When two of the most entertaining reality broadcast shows
came on the same day at the same hour, “America’s Next Top Model” (ANTM) and “The
Apprentice”, I have to say, as much as I appreciate beauty and fashion, ANTM
was no competition to The Apprentice. I loved it! The intensity of applying one’s
knowledge, skills and experience to creative projects, while working for one of
the top employers in America seemed so engaging; And as much as the competitors
dreaded to hear the iconic exiting phrase, we the viewers waited an hour just
to hear it, “You’re Fired”!
When I think about my personal reality show, I would dread
to hear those words from an employer. It further caused me to question do I
have that same anxiety when it comes to my Spiritual employer Jesus Christ?
Have I made working for him a reality? Have I sought His approval regarding the
way I treat the life He’s given me? Have I shared His love unbiased? Have I read my Bible to gain instruction? Have
I prayed enough to communicate with Him to fulfill His purpose in my life while
I’m here on Earth for others to be drawn to Him?
Today and everyday I choose to be Jesus’ Apprentice, sharing
the love of God. The “reality” is, this life won’t last forever, but through the
love of Christ, we have the opportunity to eternal life. Who would keep this to
themselves? When it’s all said and done,
instead of “you’re fired” I desire to hear “Well done, my good and faithful servant”.
We can all work for the best Employer, whose is ranked #1 on Heaven’s list of “Top
100 companies to work for”. He is #1 in distributing love, benefits,
compensation, forgiveness, faithfulness, healing, deliverance, joy and peace to
all His employees. Beat that Google! Let’s get to work people. There’s a dying
world out there, spiritually and physically. The change starts with us…knowing
and being in relationship with Him. So, who do you work for?
"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole
world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew
16:26)
"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one
and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have
eternal life. (John 3:16)
